FAQ

Directory FAQ

How the lists work, what’s included and how delivery happens.

What’s included in each list?

Each list is an Excel workbook with the investors for the size you buy. A deep list is 250, 1,000 or 2,000 investors when it can fill that size. A list with 50 to 249 investors is one file of every investor in that segment. Every workbook includes a Column Guide and a Read Me sheet. Every investor comes with 40+ data fields: the named partner and their title, contact routes, check size with a confidence rating, recent investments, dry powder, co-investors, thesis and more. Lists are drawn from our database of 45,000+ US investors.

Which data fields are included?

All 40 columns, in every list size: Investor Name, Partner Name, Partner Title, Investor Type, State, City, Metro, Geographic Focus, Email, Phone (if published), LinkedIn, X / Twitter, Website, Best Contact Route, Accepts Cold Pitches, Pitch Form URL, Check Size Range, Check Size Confidence, Stages, Category Tags, Thesis Summary, Founder Focus, Lead or Follow, Recent Investments, Active Recently, Investments Last 12 Months, Last Investment Date, Notable Portfolio, Co-Investors, Fund Size, Latest Fund Year, Dry Powder Signal, AUM, Startup Fit, Quality Score, Response Likelihood, Emerging Manager / Solo GP, Team Size, Year Founded, Last Updated. Some fields, such as Phone, are only filled in when the information is published.

How is the file ranked?

Every list is ranked for its own segment (the state, city, sector, stage or investor type you picked). Investors are ordered by Quality Score and Startup Fit, which reflect signals such as recent investment activity, how well their stages, check size and focus match the segment, and how complete their contact details are. A 250, 1,000 or 2,000 file is the top of that ranking, and it is offered only when the segment can fill it. A list with 50 to 249 investors is the whole segment, not a short cut of a larger size.

How should I use the email on each row?

Write to the named partner. A shared inbox such as info@ or hello@ is a backup, and it is still the firm’s published address. If you need another route, use Best Contact Route, LinkedIn, the pitch form, or the firm website on that same row.

What should I do if an email bounces?

Investor inboxes change. Use Best Contact Route on that row: the partner’s LinkedIn or X profile, the firm’s pitch form (see Accepts Cold Pitches and Pitch Form URL), or the firm’s website. The Read Me sheet in the workbook walks through the same order.

Where does the data come from?

Records are built from SEC filings, firm websites and the public web, then structured, de-duplicated and checked before they’re added to a list. Each record includes a Last Updated date so you can see how fresh it is.

How often is the data refreshed?

The database is refreshed monthly. Every purchase is generated from the latest refresh, and each record carries a Last Updated date. Investor details change over time, so we recommend starting outreach soon after you download.

How are the lists organized?

Three ways: by location (national, state and city lists), by category (sector, stage and investor type) and by size. Deep lists come in 250, 1,000 or 2,000 investors when the list can fill that size. A shorter list, from 50 to 249 investors, is one complete file. Lists under 50 investors are not sold on their own.

What format is the file?

You receive an Excel workbook (.xlsx) with the investor rows, a Column Guide, and a Read Me sheet. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.

How quickly will I receive my list?

Instantly. As soon as your payment is confirmed you get access to your download — there’s no waiting for a manual export.

Why do some lists cost more?

Some lists cost more because founders search for them more often: angels, venture firms, AI, and the largest states and cities. The higher price is the only difference. Every list includes the same data fields, and the price is shown before checkout.

Is this a subscription?

No. Every list is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring charges, seats or renewals.

I’m an investor in your data. How do I opt out?

Email us via the Contact page with your name and firm and we’ll correct or remove your record. Removed records are excluded from all future refreshes and lists.

Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. Purchases are one-time and non-refundable. Because lists are digital products delivered instantly, we can’t offer returns — please review the live preview and list details before buying.
